90 Day Reset
Updated: 3 minutes ago

In the United States, the President has 100 days into the new presidency to make their mark and set the tone of what can be expected over the next four years. The first 100 days is a short-term plan/outline about next steps.
Here we are in Q4 of 2026 and while some may be preparing for the upcoming holidays, others may be reflecting and regretting the goals they made at the beginning of the year that never materialized. Then there are others thinking “I’ll wait until the new year because it is too late in the year already.” I challenge you to reshape that thinking. We all have a choice and the very first thing to do is to take the first step and choose yourself.
The plan you develop and carry through within the next 90 days will give you the opportunity to make a fresh start. By choosing this 90-day reset makes it time bound and achievable. It is long enough to make meaningful progress but short enough for you to get that quick win and feel good about what you have achieved.
This is an opportune time to start your own next move or goal.
Step 1: Write it down. Not type or talk to text. Literally write it down. The physical process of writing by hand lets your brain slow down and helps you to focus on what you are doing and helps you to think clearly. Start by writing down three goals (or less, but not more) you want to achieve in the next 90 days. Whatever might be important to YOU. Whether it is completing a certification, exercising or choosing to slow down and declutter physically or electronically, whatever it is. Three goals or less is enough and achievable.
Step 2: Make it realistic. Achievable should mean comfortable, you will need to put in the work to get it done, but you want to be realistic about being able to get it done in this timeframe. Ask yourself why does this matter to me? How will it make me feel? We know that when we make goals we have to make sure they are attainable and the WHY will add the motivation to get it done. So basically, you are being realistic about what you want and how you intend to achieve the goal while also pushing yourself and achieving it within the next 90 days.
Step 3: Be accountable. “To thine own self be true” this is something we should all strive to do, but having a partner or sharing this goal with someone really helps to be true to yourself! This person can provide encouragement and do their own check-ins with you to keep you on track and accountable. The other point of writing the goal(s) down is also to have it visible. You need to see it. Out of sight can mean out of mind, so place it somewhere you can go and check in on it each day or week. Having it broken down into weekly actions that you can check off will help you see the visual progress and stay motivated. There are tons of planners that you can purchase, and you can set reminders on your phone to take a specific action!
As women in global mobility, we are good at helping others navigate change. We support, anticipate challenges, manage expectations and timelines and guide others through some of the biggest transitions of their lives. It is time to navigate and turn some of that focus on us.
Finish that last quarter of 2026 feeling good about yourself and proving to yourself that you took action on what is important to you and achieved it.
Ready, set, go!
