Women of Global Mobility Community Guidelines

Why we're here

Women of Global Mobility is a place for women in our industry to support each other, share what we know, and grow together. These guidelines help keep it that way. They apply everywhere WoGM gathers: the website, the member portal, online groups, virtual meetings and in-person events.

Be professional and respectful

  • Treat every member with courtesy, even when you disagree

  • Share ideas and experiences in a helpful, constructive way

  • Respect different backgrounds, roles, career stages and points of view

  • No harassment, bullying, discrimination or personal attacks

  • Keep conversations relevant to our community and our industry

No selling or solicitation

WoGM is a space where women nurture and grow each other. It is not a marketplace. Please do not use WoGM to sell or promote products or services.

This includes:

  • Sales pitches in posts, comments, meetings or events

  • Sending members unrequested sales messages, emails or LinkedIn requests with a pitch

  • Recruiting members into business opportunities or sales networks

  • Using WoGM events to generate leads for your business

What is welcome:

  • Sharing knowledge, resources and lessons learned

  • Answering a question when a member asks for a recommendation

  • Talking about your work and experience as part of a real conversation

  • Sharing job openings in the designated area, if the board chooses to allow this

Protect member information

Members trust us with their names, contact details and professional information. That information is shared only so members can connect with each other.

Please do not:

  • Copy, download or export member information

  • Add members to mailing lists, CRMs or marketing campaigns

  • Share member information with anyone outside WoGM

  • Use the member directory or attendee lists to contact people for business purposes

Keep conversations confidential

Members often share personal and professional challenges. What is shared in WoGM meetings and groups stays in WoGM, unless the person who shared it says otherwise.

If something doesn't feel right

If you see behavior that goes against these guidelines, please email secretary@womenofglobalmobility.org. Messages go to the WoGM Secretary, who keeps a record of all concerns. Reports will be handled with care and discretion.

If your concern involves the Secretary, please contact the President directly at christina@womenofglobalmobility.org

A note for board members and officers

Board members and officers also follow WoGM's conflict of interest policy under our bylaws. Using a board role, or access to member information, for personal or business gain is a conflict of interest. It will be handled through that process and may lead to removal from the board and the organization.

What happens if the guidelines are not followed

Most issues can be handled with a friendly reminder. Depending on what happened, the board may:

  • Reach out with a reminder or a request to change the behavior

  • Remove posts or limit access to the website or member portal

  • Ask the member to leave the organization

Anyone found misusing their membership to access member information for their own benefit may be asked to leave WoGM.

The board makes the final decision on how guidelines are applied.

Our shared agreement

By joining WoGM, taking part in our events or using our website, you agree to follow these guidelines. Thank you for helping keep this a space where women lift each other up.
